Northern Regional Soccer Centre of Excellence

The Northern Regional Soccer Centre of Excellence is a program designed for those better players at U11/12/U13/U14. This give the better players a platform to showcase their talents. Players are scouted and invited in. Players may also be recommended by a club head coach.

The best players will train together once a week. Players will be pushed to do their best in a very competitive training environment. Players will also be trained by the highest level coaches in Northern Ontario.

Special Needs Soccer Programming

 

Summer Ages 5-12

This program is to improve and expand the quality, opportunity and accessibility of soccer to individuals with intellectual as well as physical disabilities.

Athletes of all ability levels are encouraged to participate and programming will be structured so that athletes compete with other athletes of similar ability.

*Qualified Special Education Teachers are partnering with nationally and provincially qualified coaches

Elite Program

Fall/Winter/Spring for ages 13-17

This is a program designed for those players between the ages of 13-17yrs that are playing at a competitive level that wish to peruse playing at a higher level. This program is by invitation only. If you think you have what it takes you can contact Brian Ashton for a free trial training session to be assessed.

Youth Training Program

Fall/Winter/Spring ages 3-13

This program is designed for players between the ages of 3-13.

Summer Soccer Development League

Summer 2016 ages 3 to 12

U3 to U12 Boys and Girls!

Starting July 5 at James Jerome. The program will run twice a week Tuesday & Thursday 9:00am-9:30am for U3/U4 (YOB 2012/2013), 9:30am-10:15am for U5/U6 (YOB 2010/2011), 10:15am-11:15am for U7/U8 (YOB 2008/2009), 11:15am-12:15pm for U9/U10 (YOB 2006/2007), 12:15pm-1:15pm for U11/U12 (YOB 2004/2005).

Players will experience instruction from the most qualified coaching staff in Ontario.

$90 per U3/U4, $100 per U5/U6, $110 per U7/U8, $110 per U9/U10, $110 per U11/U12

Summer daytime Tuesday’s and Thursday’s, 9:00am -9:30am James Jerome

July and August

Characteristics – Players at this age have a very short attention span, they are very easily distracted. They all want to play with their ball, the toy. They do not want to share “their toy”. There is very little ability for team play yet.

Structure – Every player will have a ball. Players will arrive with adults and under the instruction of the head coach will warm up together as one big group. Parent/grandparent/older sibling will be allowed to assist with the warm up and all activities.

After the warm up players will be separated into groups (ratio of 6-8 players per group per coach) Players will go through some physical Literacy exercises such as running/hopping/skipping/tumbling etc

FUNdamentals

U5/U6

Summer evenings 6:30pm-7:15pm

May- August

Summer daytime Tuesday’s and Thursday’s, 9:30am -10:15am James Jerome

July and August

Characteristics – Able to understand very basic coaching info like stay in the area, attack in that direction etc. Biggest challenge is controlling and moving the ball with their feet.

Structure - Every player will have a ball. Players will arrive with adults and under the instruction of the head coach and other staff coaches will warm up together as one big group. Parent/grandparent/older sibling will be present but not on the field with players unless the player needs it.

 

After the warm up players will be separated into groups (ratio of 8-10 players per group per coach) Players will go through some physical Literacy exercises such as running/hopping/skipping/tumbling etc. Players will then be put into teams and play 3vs3 with no keepers.

U7/U8

Summer daytime Tuesday’s and Thursday’s, 10:15am - 11:15am James Jerome

July and August

Characteristics – Players now understand that the games purpose is to score more goals than their opponents. Players understand that acting with the ball purposefully will lead to success is developing. Combining basic motor skills with ball control is now encouraged.

Structure - Every player will have a ball. Players will arrive with adults and under the instruction of the head coach and other staff coaches will warm up together as one big group. Parent/grandparent/older sibling will be present but not on the field with players.

After the warm up players will be separated into groups (ratio of 8-10 players per group per coach) Players will go through some physical Literacy exercises such as running/hopping/skipping/tumbling etc. Players will then be put into teams and play 5vs5 with keepers.

Learn to Train

U9/U10

Summer daytime Tuesday’s and Thursday’s, 11:15am - 12:15pm James Jerome

July and August

Characteristics - Now understands the meaning of team play, direction and team play is developing. Perfect age to work on soccer specific techniques and skills. Understanding of playing without the ball (running off the ball) develops.

Structure - Every player will have a ball. Players will arrive with adults and under the instruction of the head coach and other staff coaches will warm up together as one big group. Adult will be present but not on the field with players.

After the warm up players will be separated into groups (ratio of 10-12 players per group per coach) Players will go through some physical Literacy exercises such as running/hopping/skipping/tumbling etc. Players will then be put into teams and play 7vs7 with keepers.

U11/U12

Summer daytime Tuesday’s and Thursday’s, 12:15pm - 1:15pm James Jerome

July and August

Characteristics – Perfect mental and physical ability for developing motor skills. Developing an understanding of individual roles in relation to the team. Likes to compete and compare. Socially aware, critical or own performance and that of others. Ideal mental and physical condition in this age group. Imitates idols.

Structure - Every player will have a ball. Players will arrive with adults and under the instruction of the head coach and other staff coaches will warm up together as one big group. Adult will be present but not on the field with players.

After the warm up players will be separated into groups (ratio of 12-14 players per group per coach) Players will go through some physical Literacy exercises such as running/hopping/skipping/tumbling etc. Players will then be put into teams and play 9vs9 with keepers.
